Bug Description

Last night I install the kernel update. After that firefox starts crashing, wine-staging can't work and load programs, and I see a lot of errors in programs like my weather.
I don't know what is going on and what appends with this Kernel in changes.
Regards
Miguel

I experienced similar problems after the same update to 14.04 LTS.
After reboot, an error message was displayed reporting an internal error.
The error involved wineserver, and unsurprisingly my Wine programs would not work.
Hopefully, the error report was sent and it will be fixed quickly.
I rebooted back to the previous version, 3.13.0-58-generic.

A workaround for the failure of wine with this latest kernel 3.13.0-59 is to start wineserver first from the command line, then start wine, and it seems happy with that for some reason.

Kernel Linux 3.13.0-59 don't work properly in my Xubuntu x64. Steam for
linux, wine, adobe reader dont work after kernel installation. Adobe
reader can not print anything
I downgrade to kernel 3.13.0-58 and now work fine.

@ Dave Rove #4 doesn't work here. I've tried that with 1. start wineserver 2. start Heroes III -> crash and no wineserver anymore(see ps aux)

Yes, Wine applications behave odd which after the upgrade to 3.13.0-59 don't run. When I reboot in 3.13.0-58 kernel they work again. I'm now forced to boot into the earlier kernel but decided to install HWE utopic kernel which work as intended.

The new kernel 3.13.0-61 fixes the wine issue for me. So I think this bug can be closed.
