Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

I'm not sure if it's just my hardware, but with the latest ISO: 20071016 I keep getting this error when trying to install using LVM:

Oct 16 17:28:55 partman: Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...

I did the crypted LVM test and everything worked fine. I then tried the LVM test and received messages like above. Using the same hard drive I then did the LAMP test using standard guided partitioning and everything worked fine. Thinking it may just be a flaky hard drive I then installed a different drive and received the message above.

My hardware is rather old, so if someone has different results this may not be a valid bug. The previous ISO 20071010 worked fine however.

This is the /var/log/syslog from the LVM failed install.

Sorry for the delay. This message actually comes from lvm2 itself, so I'm going to guess wildly that it's better off over there. I don't suppose you might have a chance to check this using 8.04?

It feels a bit like an endianness bug, though I'm not sure where.
