So, this really needs a Breaks/Replaces on openoffice.org-hyphenation
(<< 0.9).

@gunnarhj: will you take care of this?
maybe also do a merge on top of the updated package in Debian (a
Spanish dict has been updated).

To be on the safe side, maybe check if any more is needed for the moved
dicts from oo.o-hyphenation package...

If you don't want to I can do it over the week end maybe.

I'm not sure about this. It shouldn't happen on a fully updated Xenial.

@Jarosław, I'd guess that you updated libreoffice-dictionaries, but not openoffice.org-hyphenation, and then was prompted to install hyphen-en-gb when you opened Language Support.

If you run:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install dist-upgrade

and then try to install the missing language support again, it ought to work.

@Jarosław: Can you please confirm my guess above, or else provide details about the steps you took before you encountered this issue.

Yes, but that kind of stuff should be marked in the package metadata.
Nothing forces users to bulk update all the packages in their systems every
time, and the standard procedure to move a file between packages is to add
a breaks/replaces (that would have avoided this)
Anyway there is a new version, adding this is straightforward enough :)

Mattia,

Actually it was you who convinced me a couple of weeks ago that those Breaks/Replaces are *not* needed. ;)

Without arguing about the standard procedure, we should remember that 16.04 is still under development, and users are not supposed to use development versions. Developers and testers are. So the cases we really need to consider are fresh installs of the released 16.04 and complete version upgrades from 14.04 or 15.10.

If you still think it's needed, I'd appreciate if you fix it when you have time. In that case, please note that it's not only about hyphen-en-gb, but such Breaks/Replaces should be added to all the hyphen-* packages which replace the dictionaries which were removed from openoffice.org-hyphenation:

umh, maybe I'm really bad at expressing myself (could really well be), but I wrote this:
"I'd rather upload a openoffice.org-hyphenation without the conflicting dictionaries once this one is uploaded and don't care more, it sounds cleaner, and maybe add a Breaks+Replaces on lo-dicts instead.", so I'd actually have added the Breaks/Replaces (you were talking about Replaces/Conflicts).

Anyway, here I am, I uploaded the package to my catch-all dirty PPA adding those.
you can see the debdiff on https://launchpadlibrarian.net/248592610/libreoffice-dictionaries_1%3A5.1.0-1ubuntu1_1%3A5.1.0-1ubuntu2.diff.gz (also attached) or grap the package in ppa:mapreri/ppa https://launchpad.net/~mapreri/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+build/9368159

Subscribing sponsors, since whilst I know several motus I don't have many relationships with core-devs…
