Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.8 on Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10. I installed the GC(?) Java plugin. However none of my internet banking sites work correctly. The page displays 'Error loading applet' message. The URL is https://internet-banking.dbs.com.sg/IB/Welcome

this is probably a problem of classpath or even of gcj itself (but not firefox). As a workaround I would suggest to try icedtea-java7 plugin or the multiverse sun-java6 plugin packages.

Reassigning to classpath for now.

Alexander,

Thanks. Being new to Ubuntu it took me some time to realise that the plugin
had to be uninstalled using the Synaptics package manager. I tried
installing the icedtea-java plugin as you suggested but got a 'bad
signature' error. The Sun plugins also refuse to get installed. Anyway, I
will try again later.

Overall Ubuntu does not yet give me the confidence to switch over completely
from Windows.

I wanted to run this web applet, an astronomical orbit 3D plotter and it shows error message. Please take a look at this, in the java console details it shows the following log.
