Bug Description
The Network Settings dialog in Ubuntu 7.10 has only a properties button. Clicking on a network interface and the properties button the user can set properties but there is no possibility to activate the interface short of either restarting the box or running /etc/inet.d/network restart. None of these options is clear or easy to do for the common user. The corresponding interface in Ubuntu 6.10 is much clearer in this respect. I respectfully suggest a change to that interface at least for the ńext LTS release. See also my comments about the commenting out of all lines in /etc/apt/

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
