There is a separate login session on Edge, which is the reason for it saying you are not logged in. If you log in on edge, everything should be fine.

I don't think there are any plans to have a single session over both codebases (it might be more trouble than it is worth).

Yes, there should be two different sessions, but please forward the one from launchpad.net to edge.lp.net.
You can always still logout there (and invalidate only that session.

At the very least, you should add a note, because currently it goes: "Huh? wrong password?!" and not "Oh, I'm asked the same again, although computers could do it for me".
Please implement both: forwarding from lp.net to edge.lp.net. But then use "login credentials forwarding" in this case.. :)

This is important for the user workflow, especially when reporting from where you have to login.

Please fix this, it's a bit annoying, not to say silly.

I do not use edge since some months ago by this error. I think that many testers have done the same.

In my humble opinion this is a minor inconvenience!

Beside edge.lp.net there are also staging.lp.net and demo.lp.net installations.

If you realy want to test edge and add bug requests you can login directly to edge.

The problem isn't so much that it doesn't share login creds, so much as the user is forced to log in twice whenever they visit ordinary launchpad. This discourages people from participating in the beta program at all. If edge is to be automatically redirected to, I don't think it's too much to ask that the redirect be seamless.

Actually, I've noticed that if I go directly to a page that I've reported a bug in, I still need to log in twice just to post an update.

I'd have to disagree with the more trouble than it's worth. It is a minor inconvenience, but at the same time, it's also annoying when I regularly clear my browser data.

Please Fix :D

Yes, that's annoying. Especially when you know that Launchpad is an openid provider so it could provide the login data to launchpad.net, edge, staging and demo without problems. But it's not :/

This affects firefox on hardy. Not sure if its intentional, but should be fixed since users are led to think they forgot the password, wich causes subsequential network and server use without any need. In a few words, its a lost of time and resources.

This isn't a bug in firefox or karmic or any other piece of software running on your computer. It's just a bug in the actual launchpad code, and affects you regardless of which browser and platform you are using.

This bug seems to be fixed now - Launchpad uses an OpenID server so you don't have to enter your login and password twice - once you enter it for the first time you just need to click on "Sign me in" again when you are logging in to edge.

Agree, this is as fixed as it is likely to get.
