Tilda is not displayed on top with compiz

Binary package hint: tilda

Hello,

With compiz in gutsy, when I press the key to display tilda (F1) , tilda is not displayed on the top of the screen. (but it is visible if they are no other window which can potentially hide it, but the advantage of tilda is precisely - for me - to come above others windows)

Then if I click anywhere on the screen (just afer pressing F1) , tilda take the focus, and is displayed correctly on the top.

But it's not practical to be obliged to use the mouse for using tilda given that it is a terminal ...

It is not a very important bug, but I think that it must not be very hard to solve . (Unless it is a compiz bug ?)

Juste a precision : "Always on top " on the preferences is well checked.

"Always on top" is selected as a default setting, however this is not the case in operation, unless you uncheck and then recheck "Always on top". Unless you look here and discover that to be the case, then tilda is not operating properly. In fact, it is still not operating properly even after taking this action, therefore this needs a more exact fix that solves the problem.

Tilda's always on top works in 0.9.5 with a non-composited desktop. If you were using a CVS version between 0.9.4 and 0.9.5, it was broken for a time.

I can't find the changelog, but it seems Ira is correct. This is no longer a problem with newer versions of Tilda. I can reproduce this bug in Hardy, but not in Intrepid Beta.

I'm using Xubuntu 8.04 LTS (Kernel 2.6.24-27) and have Tilda 0.09.4+cvs20071012-1 installed. In fact I use compositing with XFCE. A 0.09.5 version was mentioned. I will use https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports as a resource to propose a backport for 8.04.
