Bug Description

The new version of gedit does not add new features. The release cycle is quiet with a few bug fixes and translation updates.

3 Ubuntu patches have been upstreamed.

2 commits need to be reverted because they depend on gtksourceview 3.22 which we will not be packaging for yakkety. (They are the commits that are prefixed by search:)

I have been running gedit 3.21.90 for a few weeks now and I haven't seen any new bugs with it.

GNOME is currently in UI freeze with 3.22 expected to be released around September 20.

      + gedit replaces gedit-common (<< 3.18.1-1ubuntu1)

      + create compatiblity desktop file for upgraders
      + Build without --Bsymbolic-functions to fix issues
    - debian/patches/05_menu_label.patch:
      + Don't display in menu as "gedit Text Editor"
    - debian/patches/unity_no_csd.patch:
      + don't use GtkHeaderBar decorations under Unity
    - 0001-Allows-to-have-the-close-button-on-the-left-corner.patch:
      Take patch from bgo #745381 to fix the close button in all cases
  * Dropped patches applied in new release:
    - debian/patches/02_add_keywords.patch
    - debian/patches/07_use_del_instead_ctrl_del.patch
  * debian/control.in, git_revert_gtksourceview322.patch:
    - Revert the commits that require gtksourceview 3.21

  * Upload to unstable.

gedit (3.21.90-1) experimental; urgency=medium

  * New upstream beta release.
  * Update (build-)dependencies according to configure.ac changes:
    - bump gtksourceview to >= 3.21.2
  * Have quilt refresh debian/patches/01_gedit-bugreport-location.patch
