Bug Description

Newer kernels are more paranoid about security so the perf stats are zero unless one runs with the CAP_SYS_ADMIN capability (or tweak /proc/sys/kernel/perf_event_paranoid to below 2 for it to work as a normal user).

Ensure perf stats are only shown if we can actually read them.
