I order to install those packages I had to download them for the archive
ubuntu site. I am now installing Java but that was not fun for a first
time with ubuntu.

Hi Pedro,

Since then I gave my computer to a student who is Windows centric so
for now I am not using KUbuntu. Still, I hope that the next time I use
Kubuntu, installing Java will be straight forward. In any case the
update tools are much better than for Linux !
