2.3.0-2ubuntu1

Launching via desktop menu fails silently - no visible error.

When logging out of execution of the desktop file through a file manager, can see that the failure to launch is due to:

kf5.kcoreaddons.kaboutdata: Could not initialize the equivalent properties of Q*Application: no instance (yet) existing.
Unknown options: c, a, p, t, i, o, n.

This was fixed a few commits after the release of version 2.3.0

This bug was fixed in the package labplot - 2.3.0-2ubuntu2

labplot (2.3.0-2ubuntu2) zesty; urgency=medium

  * debian/patches: Add upstream patch to fix application launch from
    the desktop file/menus; The KF5 port uses QCommandLineParser which
    doesn't know the '-caption' parameter. The desktop file needs to use
    '-qwindowtitle' instead. (LP: #1681426)

And in ubuntu. It is a shame on timing that 2.4 was released a bit too
late to get into zesty for release day.
