GUI error in ipod track list

Bug Description

When browsing ipod tracks and expanding albums in the tree view, artist and song titles are randomly duplicated and juxtaposed in the browser pane, sometimes obscuring/over-writing the names of other albums with duplicate listings. Mousing over/clicking these causes weird anomalies.

Reproducible: Always

Platform: Ubuntu 7.10 on x86

Here's a patch that fixes this problem. Also included in the patch is support for transferring tracks not in the collection to a media device, which previously didn't work.

This patch did not resolve the error for me. When mousing over album titles in the ipod browser, I see duplicates the appear and disappear sporadically.

After patching 0.2.1.1 Ubuntu manually, the issue actually does clear up a lot, except the name of the ipod's top "root" directory changes to reflect whatever band I have highlighted. If I select "Beatles" and then mouse over the top level entry (next to the Ipod Icon) that text will change to "Beatles" . In every case, it has the ipod named after a band, rather than just "IPod" or something.

I am having the same problem. The top level entry next to the ipod icon changes to various artist names. The screenshot looks very similar to my situation. After committing the patch, the problem persists.

I don't know if this is related to the type of ipod I am using, but mine is a 160GB classic.

I'm going to close this bug since the device panel code has changed considerably in 0.3.x. Please open a new bug report if that one is problematic.
