the runtime dependency on python3-distutils is not needed, please don't let the package migrate to the release pocket. it should be removed in -proposed.

these are packaging tools. it's the same as you don't want to have a runtime dependency on python3-setuptools (which we don't have either).

sure, but even if it doesn't use it at runtime somehow that still sounds cosmetic issue. Why is this a migration blocker?

because matplotlib doesn't need it. this was fixed in 1ubuntu1. why re-add the dependency?

Please don't use blocker bugs this way. You could have uploaded a fixed package, or since you are an archive admin you could have removed the package from -proposed. But readding a dependency on python3-distutils is not a release-breaking bug that should be allowed to block migration.
