polls dont have an example for date format

Bug Description

the date format used is MM/DD/YYYY, but it doesnt say anything anywhere.
Users from different locales will try different formats like DD/MM/YYYY or even YY-MM-dd

I think this bug should have greater importance.

In my case it cause a series of unfortunate events:
not knowing the time format I have added a start day in the past and a could not add any option to the poll, neither could I delete it. So I have created an invalid poll.

Also specifing the input format , near the text box is a great usability improvment and it should not require to much effort.

An example of the correct date/time format would be nice. However, I think the correct solution would be a tiny pop-up that displays a calendar to choose the date, and some tiny text boxes to choose the hour/minute/second of the time. Once the user enters the information, it would be converted to the correct format and entered in the text box on the poll creation page.
