Bug Description

After using KControl to configure my TV-OUT on my Dell Inspiron 1520, my X windows failed to load after reboot. I renamed the xorg.conf because I understood that as a new feature of "unbreakable x" that should remedy my situation. It did, and X opened correctly, but I'm now unable to double click and drag a window by it's title, my scroll on my touchpad is disabled. this is a huge pain.

This happened on a laptop of mine as well, "unbreakable x" does not add the synaptic module or configure the touchpad as anything other than a standard mouse

Thank you for your report. Could you please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals, xprop -root as separate attachments?

Thank you.

intrepid uses input-hotplug, so synaptics is automatically loaded on systems that have such a device, failsafemode or not.
