Bug Description

The project page on Launchpad says it's for "until Xubuntu/Lubuntu (Xfce/LXDE) migrate their panel to Gtk+3." Given that there are no reverse dependencies, looks like that's done now. No reverse dependencies, only in Ubuntu.

IT was added for xubuntu/lubuntu, xfce got migrated to gtk3 but lxpanel is still on gtk2 and in the archive (unsure if it does use the indicators though since it doesn't suggests/recommends/depends on it), also that component might be deprecated/to delete as well but it would be nice to resolve that question before removing it

It looks like this is blocked on confirmation that this isn't used by lubuntu.

Lubuntu considers LXDE an obsolete stack in 18.10 and beyond because we have no plans to port it to GTK 2. This includes lxpanel.

If this involves removing lxpanel, go for it.

(One minor correction, I meant GTK 3, not GTK 2.)
