I see upstream's changelog says:

"0.6.4
Compilation fixes (prefix is still disabled)
Stability fixes."

I need that prefix to point the build system in semantik to /usr/lib/kde4/ - where kde4-config lives so the package accepts the fact that KDE4 does exist on the system.

I've tried patching it (and upstream changes it with every release IIRC) and all but for some reason it won't pick up kde4-config, upstream advised to change $PATH, but I don't think that's a good idea through debian/rules.

But I shall update as soon as possible.

Hi,

I got it up and running using a home-made patched version of semantik 0.6.5 (non-official release)
See attached diff and get source at:
http://www.freehackers.org/~tnagy/semantik-0.6.5.tar.bz2

Enjoy!

Ps: maybe not stable since 0.6.5 is not officially released.

Forgot to mention that I added /usr/lib/kde4/bin to my $PATH...

This has not been fix commited, as it has not been uploaded to Ubuntu. Plus, the $PATH thing is the problem why the build system waf, cannot find kde4-config. As I said before: I cannot find a way of changing $PATH in debian/rules.

Sorry for the status change, I did'nt the underlying process.

I know near to nothing about debian packaging but is something like :
          PATH=$PATH:/usr/lib/kde4/bin ./waf configure
in debian/rules be acceptable?

No, debian/rules has a special way of doing these things - that I unfortunately do not know about.

Well, in any case I created a deb using this method. For those who want to try the last version:
