Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I just installed evolution, I did not install filters and....
the first 2 mails were not sent (I don't know why)
now every time I send a new message it goes (briefly) in "outbox folder" and then in "sent folder" but ALSO in "trash folder".
I don't dare to empty the trash folder...

Thank you for opening this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. This is not a bug, but expected behaviour. Evolution does not physically delete messages until an expunge is performed. Instead, messages are marked logically deleted in the original folder; additionally, the Trash folder is a virtual folder, and lists all messages marked for deletion.

Please go to (on the top menu) to View, and set "Hide Deleted Messages" -- this should then hide all deleted messages in the original folders.

I am marking this notabug; if you do not agree with this, please re-open.

Changed in evolution:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Invalid

I have the same problem and did as said above. In my inbox - there are sub folders via filters. HOwever if a friend writes to me - it goes into the correct folder, and if I reply to him - the reply does not go to the sent folder - but to the friends folder. is this corret.

I just migrated from Windows to Ubuntu (7.10) - so I do not know much. Please help

Okay, please ignore my above message. I found the culprit - I had without knowing made a rule for outgoing messages to put the sent messages in the friends folder under inbox.

I have managed to take my first steps in evolution myself. Regret inconvenience (if any) caused.
