Bug Description

Binary package hint: gvfs

I backed up my personal data (evolution, bookmarks etc) to a pen drive I was unable to retrieve them from the pen drive though. My other system was able to when it was running gnome-vfs so I was able to copy the file across from that pc. So the file can be read and copied by gvfs but not from the pen drive.

I will keep my eye on this situation and keep you abreast of any developments.

Thank you for your bug. Could you try if that's still happening using the new hardy versions?

Seb yes this is still a fault. I have two pen drives one is a samsung (ogg supporting player) the other a usb pendrive. I can't copy all the ogg files off the one drive or the complete tar.gz of the other. It just stops about 1/2- 2/3 through. Both drives are a 1Gb.

Let me know if there is any other info I can give you.

P.S. I just noticed that the ogg files on the player can't all be accessed by rhythmbox. But running Kubuntu on livecd they all play fine in amarok and copy across to the desktop no problems.

Seb after today's 5/02/08 update the tar.gz file now works fine. However the .ogg files are now unreadable. I'll try again on Kubuntu and let you know if they have been corrupted but the player itself can still play the files so i'm guessing they are fine.

Gvfs had corrupted the mp3 player fat system. It's been re formatted and now seem to be okay but will confirm shortly.
