Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

What do you mean with a dependency report system? And could you provide some examples?

1)when installing third party apps and myth tv i get lots of trouble, the dependencies are not clear to understand,i.e some package name but i dont know whether its already installed or is this should be installed, where do i get that package.
by already installed meaning i.e is this package installed with ubuntu default system install or not.

Add software via Synaptic (or apt-get/aptitude) will take care of all dependencies for you.

Installing individual packages (from getdeb for example) with dependencies can be a pain. But, when you double click on the .deb it should tell you what packages to install to meet the dependencies. For example the red text "Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: some-package". In that case you would need to install "some-package".

Is your situation different and causing you to find and install the dependencies manually?
