Bug Description

Binary package hint: trigger

I installed trigger using apt-get on very slim ubuntu system (started from jeos), and after starting it, it tells me that libjpeg.so.62 is missing. After installing libjpeg62, the game works.
I am using ubuntu 7.10.

thanks for reporting this bug. Can you attach the output of trigger failing?

Trigger doesn't directly use any symbols from libjpeg62 and doesn't dlopen
anything, so the dependencies for trigger itself are correct. I guess some of
the libraries used by trigger (most probably sdl) require libjpeg62, and
hence are missing a dependency.

Cheers,
    Stefan.

Indeed, sdl-image1.2 is missing the dependency due to dlopen'ing libjpeg62. Reassigning to sdl-image1.2.

P.S.: I've made sure that this patch doesn't break the ABI, and have also verified that it works (by starting trigger).

This bug was fixed in the package sdl-image1.2 - 1.2.6-2ubuntu1

---------------
sdl-image1.2 (1.2.6-2ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low

  * Disable dlopen'ing libjpeg in debian/rules via configure flag.
That way, libjpeg62 will be listed as a dependency (avoiding other
issues with dlopen as well) (LP: #188868).

Hi,

setting back to fix released, as the bug in the latest ubuntu package is fixed. Feel free to nominate it for gutsy (on the left, at actions), but my best guess is that won't get a real high priority and may as well not get fixed, as it's no real big problem.

Cheers,
     Stefan.
