Pedro, I seemed to have resolved my issue. I had 9100 contacts and when
the auto complete was trying to work on the to field it locked
everything up. I deleted the 9100 contacts and all is good.

Thanks,

Tim

Tim, some questions, if you do not mind:

1. Do you still have contacts on Exchange? If so, how many (power of 10 is OK)?

2. Do you use a Global address list on Exchange? Does it work?

3. Is there a chance of you reproducing the issue? The fact is, it should not eat up CPU and memory anyway. I have heard of a similar issue on up-to-date Evo, but no other comments... and I would like to dig into this.

I do not, sorry. I had 9120 contacts, but they were not really contacts as I tried to import email as tab separated and it ended up in the personal contacts, thus the large number of them. As a side note when I deleted the contacts it too the same resources and pretty much locked the machine up until it was finished and this was 10-20 at a time.

Yes, I am using the global address list on exchange and that works fine.

I cannot recreate the issue now as I am using the machine full time. I will try to do another install on a different box and try to recreate, but it would not be soon.
