Bug Description

Binary package hint: tracker

I use NFSv4 mounts with krb5i authentication, and when the user ticket is expired things go berserk.. rpc.gssd generates 2000 log events _per_second_ because it cannot access $HOME. This has to be due to trackerd running, since the amount of events was a lot less before tracker was enabled by default.

Maybe I shouldn't be running trackerd at all, but because it's on by default it should be more relaxed when it cannot access $HOME (same applies to some other apps too).

We should probably disable tracker when NFS homes are used, this could cause havoc with mass LTSP deployments. Confirming.

I doubt it runs on a Netapp.
