Yes this very likely duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1864787

Will test another one or two machines today and see what happens before marking it as a duplicate.

Tested on box AWOW NY41 Testcase:UEFI+secure boot and got the failure - rebooted and ran the installer again - this time the partitions were created with no errors - I am not sure that this a duplicate of bug 1864787 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1864787

This needs further testing and will follow up with tests on the next daily ISO

Considering nobody touched Calamares since January, I'm pretty sure we're going to see the same problem. This might be related to https://github.com/calamares/calamares/issues/1885, in which the KDE Neon devs found a solution: https://invent.kde.org/neon/extras/calamares/-/commit/a87552adab9e6fb03e71e967ccac3a268903ae14

I might be able to fix this with that little nugget there, but it might not affect Lubuntu, so I'm going to have to test it in the calamares settings package.

Looks like that nugget was, indeed, the issue. Since the issue is mostly isolated to Ubuntu Studio, we won't worry about Lubuntu in this case and the fix can go in the native calamares-settings-ubuntu package.
