DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)"

I updated my 7.10 system, then ran update manager to upgrade to 8.04.
When finished installing, I found the crash report icon on the panel informing me apport had crashed.
Every system upgrade from there re-issues this warning.
There were warnings that I did not have certain repositories enabled, but could enable them later.

The attachment ("apport crash") is the same as the bug report description. I guess you meant to attach the actual crash file in /var/crash which caused the apport icon to appear? Doesn't it work to just click on the icon in the panel and report the crash through the graphical interface?

I have made a clean install of Ubuntu 8.04 over the failed upgrade. The problem no longer exists for me.
