WiFi captive portals stopped working after Kinetic upgrade

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Accepted gnome-shell into kinetic-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/43.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

I installed gnome-shell 43.1-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 22.10. After logging in and logging out, I verified that the login page popup correctly showed and worked when I connected to a captive portal. The popup correctly did not show when I connected to a Wifi point that didn't require logging in.

This bug was fixed in the package gnome-shell - 43.1-0ubuntu1
