Bug Description

See screenshot comparing the Nautilus Places menu with GTK's file chooser's. Ignoring the inconsistency in content, the icons are sometimes 16x16 and sometimes 22x22. This should be fixed.

TESTCASE:
* run gedit
* click on the open toolbar icon
* notice in the left pane the icons inconsistancy

That's specific to the gio backend

I also just stumbled upon this problem, it is annoying especially if you are using a smaller application font size than the default one (e.g. 8 instead of 10).
However, the Gentoo guys seem to have found a way to fix this:
http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/x11-libs/gtk+/files/gtk+-2.12.9-filechooser-fix-icon-size.patch?view=markup

I have tested this patch on my Hardy installation (attached below) and it seems to work fine.

The patch comes from upstream and is working correctly on my hardy installation, I'm running it for some day but it was late to get a freeze exception for hardy, should be fine in hardy-updates though

With hardy final I got inconsistently sized icons in the open dialog. With libgtk2.0-0 2.12.9-3ubuntu2 the icons all have the same size.
