Bug Description

The cinnamon-settings-daemon package has a Recommends: on pulseaudio, which conflicts with pipewire. pipewire is part of the ubuntucinnamon seed.

Up to now, the Recommends: has been silently discarded when building images. A refactor of livecd-rootfs now makes it stricter about ensuring the expected Recommends are included. As a result, ubuntucinnamon images in mantic will begin to fail to build until the references to pulseaudio are removed.

In addition, cinnamon Recommends: blueman which Recommends: pulesaudio-module-bluetooth. It's possible blueman should drop its recommends, but that should be determined together with the Debian maintainer. Otherwise, cinnamon should drop its Recommends: on blueman.

I did a fast search and I found that libcanberra-pulse have dep. alternative "pulseaudio | pipewire-pulse", can be enough do the same alternative in cinnamon-settings-daemon recommends?
About blueman looking other packages with I saw "libspa-0.2-bluetooth | pulseaudio-module-bluetooth", I suggested in a message to maintaner to look if can add libspa-0.2-bluetooth alternative, should be enough?
I not tested switch to pipewire in cinnamon on debian yet but if joshua already tested it on ubuntu can be considered after debian 12 release when I'll have time to test it

Hey! Now that school is winding down, I can take a look.

Last night I did run a test install on my gaming rig on the last successful build of UCR, ~May 18th. I'm pretty sure the sound worked, and I think if pipewire had been problematic, we would hear complaints about it currently sitting in the 23.04 release.

I think the best thing to do is try to get Cinnamon 5.8x now that Debian 12 is out into unstable, and then into Mantic with the recommends fix here.

The easiest solution, is since the conflict is cinnamon->blueman->etc., at the moment is just to remove blueman from the recommends.

Here is the one for cinnamon:
