Bug Description
Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-new
Ubuntu 8.04 suspend and resume perfectly with nvidia-glx-new 169.12. But, the computer don't resume from hibernate: the screen is black and after of 1 minute the screen is in standby mode. The only solution is press the reset button of the my case.
There is a workaround for suspend2 scripts in Readme of the driver in /usr/share/
I'm using agpgart driver. My motherboard is a Asus P5PE-VM (Intel 865 chipset) with: Intel Pentium Dual-core E2160, Nvidia GeForce 6800 XT AGP 256 MB Ram, 2 GB Ram, Swap with 2460 GB.

Hibernate/resume support with nvidia gpus and the nvidia binary drivers is rather touchy. Sadly, the workaround described for Suspend2 will only work when using suspend2 (aka tuxonice), and Ubuntu does not ship a kernel with the tuxonice patches. I would be interested in taking a look at your /var/log/ pm-suspend. log after a failed hibernate/resume (just to see if there is something obvious) but there are no guarantees that we can make hibernate work.
