Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-core

To Ubuntu Development Team,
If I install the ATi driver by "Hardware Drivers", resolution works, but on the desktop effects, especially the "Cube Effect", the screen is "breaking". With this I can't modify the Compiz Fusion, by the way I want. I believe that, if xorg-driver-fglrx will be on Hardy Heron repositories this problem will be solved. Do something to solve it because, will be a problem for all Ubuntu Hardy Heron users.

Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Err.. the driver is in the repository, and by selecting the restricted driver you have alread installed it. It's just buggy, so I'll mark this a dupe of the corresponding bug.

When you say 'the screen is "breaking"', I don't understand what you mean. Please attach a photo or screenshot showing the problem. Also, always include your Xorg.0.log when reporting X bugs.

-fglrx is definitely included in Hardy Heron repositories so I don't understand that part of your request.

Ok, but it's a problem for people who enables the Cube Effect.
