Bug Description

Hi,

On the Samsung Q1 Ultra (hardware supported by UME) for example, which has a 1024x600 screen, the config dialog for WPA/EAP doesn't fit on the screen:
- first lines are garbeld ("A passphrase or encryption .." appears /mixed/ with "Eap Method:" and "Key Type:")
- buttons are mixed at the bottom with "Private Key File"
- no scrollbar

Not sure everything is actually displayed.

The UI should scale a bit more nicely to these screen sizes found more commonly in MIDs and subnotebooks were Linux and NM are increasingly present.

Bye,

we need a complete design proposal for the applet; preferably by the DX team. Can we assign/subscribe the DX team to this bug?

Is there any progress on this? This problem is still present on UNR 9.04 RC.

With NM being standard on UNR and said variant being promoted for devices with a resolution as low as 800x480 this is a real problem.

And it's not just the WPA dialog, it's every dialog except "connection information" which does not fit on small screens.

That makes the applet pretty much unusable on Netbook Remix.

Thanks,
  Dominik

This bug report needs some steps to reproduce, because I don't see the dialog you're discussing.

1. In Ubuntu 9.04 RC: Start your desktop in 800x480 pixels resolution (as on a Asus EeePC) or run Netbook Remix in a VM at this resolution.
2. Open network properties from the NM applet.
3. Select your network connection (actually any connection entry will do) and click on edit.
4. The resulting dialog will be cut off at the bottom.

Cheers,
  Dominik

Hi guys is this still an issue? Has this been tested in Karmic/Lucid alpha? Thank you.
