aMule links not recognized by Firefox

When you say SVN version do you mean a version from the repos (2.2.0~svn20080218-0ubuntu3) or another (unsupported) version?

I mean the version from the repos. SVN Versión: Mon Feb 18 07:02:15 CET 2008 is the text that appears in the header of the program.

I have no knowledge of aMule but I am marking this as an aMule issue so the right developers see it.

As the comments say, this is not a bug. You must set the firefox to recognize the links of ed2k aMule

I disagree. A user would expect clicking an ed2k link to take them to aMule if it is installed.

From Wikipedia: "After installing an ed2k client on Microsoft Windows, the ed2k:// protocol is optionally registered so that clicking on it in the browser automatically starts the download."

I suggest this is marked as 'Low' or 'Wishlist'.

I disagree as well. This feature shouldn't need to be installed manually, it should be installed automatically. I think this is the right thing to do, and it's certainly what the user expects.

not a firefox bug. amule should install protocol handler as a pref
(see apturl).

This should have been fixed in 2.2.1 (in intrepid, but not yet 8.04):

This should be fixed in amule 2.2.2-1ubuntu1 (Ubuntu 8.10). For Ubuntu 8.04 see bug #244670.

I experience the same bug in Intrepid with Epiphany.

In Firefox the same problem. aMule version 2.2.2.

This bug was fixed in the package amule - 2.2.3-1ubuntu1
