Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I am not sure if this is a problem with openoffice or gvfs.

Hardy Beta, OpenOffice 2.4, Core 2 duo with 64 bit Hardy.

I use my Ubuntu system to access sharepoint at my workplace and I do so by browsing to the webdav shares on sharepoint with Nautilus.

I used to do this on Gutsy and it worked flawlessly, it would ask for my password when I clicked on the file and away I would go, save and close and it's all great.

On Hardy I can open the document just the same, save and close, but when I or anyone else tries to access the document later it will only open read-only and it says it is booked out to my username. The only way I can access the file again is to delete it and replace it with the new version. The problem with that is that it removes all the old versions as well and negates the effect of sharepoint's version control system.

This is a bit of a showstopper for me and means I have to run XP with MS Office in Virtualbox just to access sharepoint.

This looks like a framework issue as cited in the upstream bug.

That upstream bug report was about OOo 1.1, this one is about 2.4.

WHY DID YOU CLOSE THE BUG AS INVALID!?

The bug report attached to this bug was incorrect or not really fixed as upstream claimed since the report was about 2.4 and the upstream bug was about 1.1

Do you still have this problem with openoffice.org 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2 in Ubuntu 8.04?

I believe that this has been corrected in ooo-build so will be in the next upload to Intrepid.
