Bug Description

At the time of writing, the three open bugs I have most recently reported about Ubuntu are bug 218655 (about nautilus-cd-burner), bug 217296 (about gnome-control-center), and bug 218655 (about f-spot).

In each case, I specified the source package when reporting the bug. But in each case, Launchpad inserted a misleading "Binary package hint:" line at the start of the bug report.

(Not to be confused with bug 93630, which is about the "Binary package hint" wording being confusing.)

To reproduce using sample data:
1. Open http://bugs.launchpad.dev/ubuntu/+source/commercialpackage/+filebug
2. Continue the steps to file a new bug
3
. Notice the "Binary package hint: commercialpackage" in the bug description

This data is munged into the message content. To fix this, someone must provide a script to update the historic data.

That would be nifty, but far from necessary. It would be sufficient to stop the hint from being added to new bug reports.
