Bug Description
Immediately after a fresh install of breezy on i386 platform I clicked to
install all available updates. Soon it threw an error and killed the update.
The full error message on termination is:
E: /var/cache/
`/usr/lib/
I hadn't loaded a single file of my own, changed any preferences, etc. on the
system before taking this action.

I had the exact same problem; very soon afterwards, I begam to experience problems with screen "garbage" in the form of
vertical, angled lines being drawn at random. Launching any app (or anything, it seems, that spawns a new process) causes a
slowness so extreme that it seems at first like a freeze. The behavior persists through reboots. Using an older Micron
Transport P3 w/ 128 MB RAM.
