Black windows with compiz-fusion on

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and

I've got the same problem.
After login everything is ok, but after opening/closing windows (let's say after one or two hour), I have to restart compiz because every new window is black.

So how to reproduce the symptom: fire up a lot of windows (for me ~700 xlogo)
for ((i=0;i<700;i++))
do
  xlogo &
done
killall xlogo

I'm on Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 with nVidia 6800 GT (I think) and compiz-fusion. I edited the /usr/bin/compiz file, line with COMPIZ_OPTIONS to be this:
COMPIZ_OPTIONS="--ignore-desktop-hints --indirect-rendering --replace"
and I stopped getting black windows. Good luck, everyone."

There was no activity since June last year, so I've set to Invalid for now.

paulcross could you tell us whether you are still having this problem, and if so post more information as per the first reply.
