Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
When trying to install Ubuntu 8.04 on a core2 Duo with an nvidia 9600 gt video card and two monitors the screen goes black when X tries to load. ctrl-alt-fx will not switch to a terminal. noapic irqpoll noirqdebug fb=false debian-
Problem goes away when second monitor is unplugged.

Also, this happens when you run the live CD? does it happen after the install is finished? Are you running the binary drivers from the restricted manager?
