Bug Description
My Gateway P-6860FX laptop has an 8800M GTS video card. Ubuntu's driver manager did not install the correct drivers, so I got the drivers from nvidia.
Furthermore, the driver manager kept overwriting my custom xorg, I believe, so I had to uninstall jockey to keep my xorg from breaking.
To post a comment you must log in.
You don't need to uninstall, just don't use jockey to configure your xorg.conf then (it only changes it when you enable/disable a driver).
Please copy&paste the output of these two commands (from a Terminal window):
lspci |grep VGA
lspci -n|grep VGA
