Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I cannot load odf files from a smb:// path (which is a windowsshare). (Can`t save either)

Open Office 2.4.0

Operatingsystem: Ubuntu (studio) 8.04

Scenario 1:

(open office word processor is NOT running)

places -> sp on 192.168.0.120 (smb://192.168.0.120/sp)
doubleclick document.odf

Open office shows loading screen and after loading nothing happens.

Scenario 2:

(open office word processor IS running)

places -> sp on 192.168.0.120
doubleclick document.odf

Nothing happens.

Remarks:
All other programs work fine opening / saving to smb://192.168.0.120/sp

Do you still have this problem with current Ubuntu 8.04.1 with openoffice.org 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2? I can't reproduce this problem on my machine.

First of all, I think this should be filed against openoffice.org-kde since it's a problem with OpenOffice.org and the KDE KIO-slave smb://
Second, Yes, this does still happen in Kubuntu 8.04.1

The bug still exists. I`m sorry for the slow reply (haven`t been around a windows machine lately to try it out). Can you please specify which information you need to investigate the problem?
