unable to remount shares at startup

Program: smb4k
Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 8.04
package version: 0.9.3-0ubuntu1

The problem:
Using the "Remount recently used shares on program start" makes smb4k hang during next program restart.
It starts to scan for network or something and it never finish, unless I click on the "Abort" button.
I think I found the cause of the problem:
the shares it is trying to mount are on a pc called: SERVER which is the samba name of that pc. the shares or mounted as:
//SERVER/Share1
//SERVER/Share2
etc...

SERVER is not resolvable by any ip address, it is not inside the /etc/hosts file either.
however if I scan for network and manually mount the shares by clicking on them (Or using the bookmarks) they are mounted without any problem, smb4k is able to do it, it fails only when it try to remount theme at program start.

How to Produce the error:
1) mount through smb4k a share of a server having the "Remount recently used shares on program start" option enabled, then close smb4k.
2) ensure the samba server name is not resolvable by any ip address.
3) switch off and switch on smb4k.
4) it should hang and wait forever until the "Abort" button is pressed

How I solved:
I add in /etc/hosts a row like this:
192.168.0.1 SERVER

now smb4k is able to mount theme at start without manual interaction.

I wonder, why smb4k is able to find and mount theme manually but not at startup ? this is the reason why I think this is a bug.
