Bug Description
When I first installed hoary, it correctly identified the native resolution of
my Hewlett-Packard f2304 monitor as 1920x1200, at least when I used the
proprietary nvidia driver. The adapter I use is a NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT.
When I upgraded (using Synaptic) to Breezy that resolution was unavailable until
I manually created and added the modeline:
Modeline "1920x1200" 154.00 1920 1968 2000 2080 1200 1203 1209 1235 # 154
MHz, 74.04 kHz, 60.0 Hz
to my /etc/X11/xorg.conf. The modeline is handcrafted from the corresponding
timings in the Windows driver.
I would suggest this is a usability bug.
