Bug Description

Binary package hint: digikam-kde4

If you are going to ship a beta version of the kde4 digikam, it is probably best to ship the latest beta which is much less buggy than beta 1.

I'm hitting some show-stopping bugs in beta 1. I'm also hoping beta 3 package shows up soon...

I'd like to add my voice to this request.
The current version (beta1) crashes scanning my larg(ish) photo directory (approx. 55GB). A known issue that is (according to the release notes) fixed in beta3.

beta 4 already out as kipi-plugin 0.2 (for kde4) and without it digikam is not very useful...

Devid,

If you need assistance, I am willing to package it up. As noted above, beta 4 is now released.

I'm sorry, but is too late for this package. I will update this for jaunty, also in order to build this package requires the new libkdcraw which is in kdegraphics trunk ATM.

When do you anticipate a newerer version of digikam appearing in Interpid?

In intrepid will not be a new version of digikam, maybe in intrepid-backports... Also if beta 1 is really bugged it should be removed from intrepid.

Either deploy via intrepid-backports or the KDE 4 PPA. In any case this is earliest possible with 4.2.0. Eventually Devid wants to include it in the archive we store KDE 4.2 alpha/beta/rc in (not yet defined which one it will be though).

We now removed digikam-kde4 from Intrepid considering the age and quality of beta1.

We have KDE 4.2 Beta 2 packages available via PPA. Would it also be possible to get Digikam Beta packages to go along with this? Digikam Beta7 is already out.

Devid is already working on it AFAIK.

I've uploaded a package for beta6 on REVU, it needs reviews. When it will be uploaded I will also upload the package to PPA.

That is great news. Thank you. When do you think that will be available in PPA?

Beta 8 is available in both Jaunty and Intrepid. (Here https://launchpad.net/~digikam-experimental/+archive for Intrepid, normally for Jaunty) thanks to the efforts of Luka Renko, who merged it from Debian.
