Bug Description

Binary package hint: dmraid

Hi,

If we boot without initramfs, / is read-only, dmraid can't write in /var/lock, and fails.

Attached patch adds -i (--ignorelocking) option in every dmraid command executed by dmraid-activate

Do not use /usr/bin/basename, it is pointless and breaks fakeraid detenction if /usr isn't mounted. Attached new diff.

This bug was fixed in the package dmraid - 1.0.0.rc14-2ubuntu8

dmraid (1.0.0.rc14-2ubuntu8) intrepid; urgency=low

  * debian/dmraid-activate: Patch thanks to Giuseppe Iuculano
    <email address hidden>. (LP: #272403)
    - Do not use basename, as its not available if /usr is not mounted.
    - Don't make a lock, needed for read-only mounted filesystems.
  * debian/patches/07_isw-raid10-nested.dpatch: Removed, as it causes
    problems with some Intel Software RAID configurations, Debian bug #494278.
  * debian/control: Replace lsb-base with udev in dmraid's dependencies.
