Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
miro: Depends: python-gnome2-extras (>= 2.19.1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

Marking as invalid; this appears to be perfectly normal archive skew. You've got the updated libgdl package in your mirror, but not the corresponding -common package. Both have built, and gnome-python2-extras should be installable soon (or, in fact, now).

I guess we can assume that the problem should be resolved in the next few days as the mirrors catch up. Thanks for looking into this Chris.

pulling from the main repository server (http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu) shows the problem still exists so I'm not quite sure that this problem can be marked as invalid at this point IMHO.

Ah, right. Sorry, I was reading that output the wrong way 'round :).

So, the problem is that python-gnome2-extras declares a dependency against libgdl-gnome-1-0, which is no longer built by the gdl package. At best, this will require a simple rebuild.

Moving to the right package.

thanks! How long will it take before gnome-python-extras 2.19.1-0ubuntu9 be released to the repositories? Just a rough guess would be fine (I don't know how long it normally takes so I'm asking :)

normally it takes some hours but the build failed due to an xorg xvfb issue so until somebody fixes that now

Thanks Sebastien. Do you have a bug # for the xorg xvfb issue?

Gozala: libgdl-gnome-1-0 is gone, you should not install it. It's supposed to dissapear from the archive.

Instead, you can again install python-gnome2-extras.

I think this is not fixed at all. I have both 32 and 64 bits version of Intrepid and python-gnome2-extras require libgdl-1-0 for both.

there is no need to keep adding comments on this bug, the fixed version has been uploaded but didn't build yet on some architectures due to xvfb issues which are being worked

Sorry to add another comment, but I just thought I'd chime in.
I had this problem when I tried to use the apt line from Miro's site, rather than the repos. It appears to work fine as long as you don't use the direct source.
