Thanks for tracking this down!

While we're fixing the grammar, we can fix two other problems with this string. First, it's plainly false that "system policy prevents stopping the [session]", because once you authenticate the session *is* stopped. And second, it doesn't explain why other users being logged in as a problem.

The attached hand-edit of your patch fixes both these problems. I've also contacted David Zeuthen about shortening the "An application is attempting to perform an action..." verbiage.

I don't know whether this is a separate bug, but I'm having the exact same error even when no other users are logged in. I was logged in to a terminal session the first time I received the message but I exited out of that and I still get the same message. This has happened before but only seems to happen occasionally. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10.

Adam - That sounds like it might be a separate issue with consolekit.

You just reminded me that I still haven't forwarded this particular bug upstream though. Thanks!

It seems I forgot to send this upstream, but this string is fixed in Jaunty now anyway so I'm closing as Fix released.

Matthew, did you have any response back from David? Also, if you think the string doesn't make sense, it may be worth you discussing this with upstream. FWIW, I agree that the current message doesn't really make a lot of sense
