Of course upgrades of debug packages are supported.

This problem is fixed in pyxine 0.1alpha2-5, but Intrepid and Jaunty have 0.1alpha2-4:

pyxine (0.1alpha2-5) unstable; urgency=low

  * debian/control
    - updated my email address
  * debian/rules
    - remove stuff not needed in the -dbg pkg (to avoid conflicts with
      normal pkg); thanks to Lucas Nussbaum for the report; Closes: #502746

I'll request a sync for Jaunty, and we need to get this in Intrepid too as a SRU.

I've verified the package from intrepid fails to install.
Also I've checked the package from intrepid-proposed installs fine, and importing the module still works.
