 xvidcap (1.1.7-0.2) is in debian-multimedia. I'll prepare a merge.

Hmm... This might be beyond me. It's FTBFS with the current ffmpeg. I'll attach my work for anyone else who wants to take a shot.

I have the following problem with Ubuntu 8.10 (which I have fully updated with update-manager) when attempting to run xvidcap:

I open a terminal window, type "xvidcap", the graphical menu and red outline bar appear as expected. But when I click on the red button to start recording, the program exits and this error message appears in the terminal window:

xtoffmpeg.c add_video_stream(): video codec not found

This may be a duplicate bug: 250054

That bug is reported to be fixed, but clearly it is not.

best regards,
Robert

If I install xvidcap1.1.7 on a 64 bit architecture it won't work.
The 1.1.6 version installed by repository works (but i need the 1.1.7 version fix to record something)
