Cupsys is missing dependencies

Bug Description

I run two hoary kubuntu desktops (upgraded to kde 3.5 per kubuntu page); one at work, one at home -- totally different printers and environments.

On both systems, printing broke 2-3 weeks ago. I finally tracked this down to a missing dependency on libgnome-perl (thanks to pointers in the ubuntu forums); I completely removed cupsys, reinstalled w/ libgnome-perl, and now printing works. Please make sure these dependencies are fixed.

This cannot be cups' fault, cups itself does neither use Perl nor Gnome libraries.

Which Ubuntu release do you use? What is the particular error you see? What did you try to do exactly?

Jonathan, I cc'ed you because the reporter uses Kubuntu.

Thanks!

If the bug is not present on Dapper, please close the bug ("Fix released"). If you are still on Hoary, you should maybe consider moving to (at least) Breezy.

Go ahead and close it -- on the latest Dapper it's fine. I don't seem to have permission/ability to resolve/close bugs.

Thanks
