Do you have a locally installed version of net-snmp ?

Could you please provide the output of
ldd /usr/sbin/snmpd

I have having this same issue on two boxes that I upgraded to 8.10

Dosn't look like anyone else posted the ldd output:
crack@stan:~$ ldd /usr/sbin/snmpd
