Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

during the https://blueprints.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/jaunty-desktop-network-changing blueprint discussions it was identified that update-manager lacks a proper integration:

+ downloads are not halted/resumed for network-manager online/offline state changes.
+ firefox 3.1 and later have network-manager support disabled.

I have an external 56k dialup modem. Network manager has a bug that won't allow the use of a dialup. So I have to quit the NM to use KPPP to get online.

Discussed with Alex; this is not a regression, nor a release-critical bug. Taking off the radar.

this seems to work great in firefox-3.5 now. only problem is that we need to enable it by default. but thats a different bug.
